DDVP is poisonous if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through skin and eyes. Rapidly absorbed through skin. Repeated inhalation or skin contact may without symptoms, progressively increase susceptibility to DDVP poisoning.
Potential Health Effects
Routes of exposure: Ingestion, inhalation, and absorption the eye or skin.
Eye Contact: Causes eye irritation, tearing, constricted pupils, blurred vision.
Skin Contact: Causes skin irritation.
Inhalation: May cause tightness in chest, weakness, muscle twitching, uncondciousness, convulsions, severe respiratory depression and death.
Ingestion: May cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps. -
Chronic health effects

Repeated exposures to small doses of DDVP and other organophosphates may lower cholinestrase to levels where the above symptoms of acute overexposure are observed. -

Handling information
Store in sealed containers in a cool, dry place and away from open flames. Keep container closed. Launder contaminated clothing before use.

Do not reuse empty pouch or strip. Wrap strip in paper and discard in trash.

First Aid
Eye Contact: Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses if present after the first five minutes then continue rinsing eye. Call a physician immediately.
Skin Contact: Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
Inhalation: Move person to fresh air. If person is not breathing call 911 or an ambulance, then give artificial respiration, preferably by mouth-to-mouth, if possible.
Ingestion: Call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have the person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by the poison control center or doctor. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
